Creating a Safe Space for Young People...

Last year, after the loss of my dad, I started an initiative here to create a shared space for the youth. I have been open about my journey, and I’m glad to say I’ve taken many steps toward healing and rebuilding my life after that difficult period.

Writing about my experience here, honestly and without sugarcoating it, has been a key part of my healing. Beyond that, I’m grateful that about 12 close friends and family have found my words and support helpful.

15 more people have reached out to me on platforms like WhatsApp, TikTok, IG, where we have engaged in meaningful mental health talks and how to deal with different issues affecting our lives.

Going through depression, anxiety, and panic after my dad passed taught me the importance of reaching out and leaning on others. With my experience, I hope to continue supporting and impacting even more people in the months ahead. This is from my initiative Youth Mental Health and Healing (Not Alone).

Supporting Each Other Through Mental Health

Since I started sharing about mental health and the challenges young people face, I’ve been able to support about 12 close people, including family and friends. They are dealing with struggles like school, work, university, anxiety, stress, and depression.

Through my own experience and the resources I’ve explored, including therapists and psychiatrists, I’ve shared what I’ve learned with them. My goal has been to help them know they are not alone, that it’s okay to take life one day at a time, and that asking for help is a strong and necessary step.

Even small conversations and guidance can make a difference. Supporting each other and being open about mental health creates space for growth, understanding, and healing.

Update

My mental health initiative here, built around the reminder that we are (not alone), has become something I hold very close.

Recently, I’ve spoken with about nine more people who are facing their own challenges.

Not all of them are grieving a loss. Some are dealing with pressure around dreams and goals, workplace stress, financial strain, anxiety, fear, or simply the uncertainty of trying to figure life out.
