A Different Women’s Day, A Stronger Promise

This year’s International Women's Day feels different for me.

In 2020, with courage that now feels almost reckless, I started writing my first book, Whisper of Strength. At that time, the world was very different. Artificial intelligence had not yet become part of everyday creative work, and I was simply writing from lived experiences, from stories of resilience, and from the quiet strength I have witnessed in so many women.

My plan was to publish the book this Women’s Day. I submitted the manuscript to a publisher, and a younger colleague even designed a possible cover. Everything seemed to be moving toward that moment.

But sometimes life writes its own story.

Today, instead of celebrating a book launch, I am spending Women’s Day in a hospital bed in the female ward, facing a very personal battle. Yet strangely, this moment has not weakened my belief—it has strengthened it.

Because the truth is, women’s strength is not defined by perfect moments of celebration. It is defined by endurance, by resilience, and by the courage to keep moving forward even during uncertain times.

The stories that inspired Whisper of Strength—stories of women who continue to rise despite hardship—feel closer to my heart than ever before.

Women’s Day reminds the world to celebrate women. But in reality, for women who struggle, lead, nurture, and rebuild every day, every day is Women’s Day.

When I return from this chapter of my journey, I will not wait any longer.

I will publish the book.

Inshallah.

And perhaps this unexpected pause will add another story of strength to its pages.

Happy Women’s Day to every woman who continues to rise. 🌍✨
