The Let Girls Thrive Journey; A Story of Courage, Confidence & Change

Let The Girl's Thrive Welcome Back to School Reflection Session

My girls and I

Somewhere between chalkboards and chatter, I see them.... girls with bright eyes, sharp minds, and quiet questions about a world that often forgets to listen.

As an educator and a Girl child advocate, I’ve learned that teaching isn’t just about lessons, it’s about unlocking voices.

Last Session 2024/2025, I started the Let Girls Thrive Fellowship in my school ,not as another club, but as a safe space where girls could see themselves beyond their circumstances. A space where they could talk, ask, dream, and grow.

One of our first sessions was on menstrual hygiene, a topic often whispered about or avoided. But that day, our girls spoke boldly, asked questions, and left with more than just sanitary pads; they left with confidence. They learned that their bodies are not a source of shame but of strength.

This new session, we built on that courage.

We started with a session on resilience, goal-setting, and self-belief ,guiding our girls to see that success isn’t something given, it’s something grown. The energy in that room was electric ,laughter, reflection, and a spark of determination you could almost touch.

The Let Girls Thrive Fellowship isn’t just a program ,it’s a movement of possibility.

It’s where girls learn that their voices matter, their dreams are valid, and their futures are in their hands.

I’m proud to walk beside them ,not as someone who has all the answers, but as someone who believes in their power to find them.

Because when girls thrive, communities rise. 💜
