Initiative Overview.
The Circle is a structured learning and reflection space designed to support women navigating the profound internal transition that occurs during motherhood. While society often prepares women for childbirth and parenting, very little attention is given to the deep emotional, psychological, relational, and identity shifts that accompany becoming a mother.
This transition is known as matrescence-the developmental process a woman undergoes as she becomes and evolves in motherhood.
Across many communities, women experience this transition in isolation. They struggle with identity loss, emotional overwhelm, career uncertainty, inherited expectations, and cultural pressure, often without language or support to understand what is happening within them.
The Circle was created to provide that missing space.
Through guided reflection, facilitated conversations, and practical tools, The Circle helps women understand their internal transformation and reconnect with their personal authority, wellbeing, and purpose.
The Problem We Are Addressing
Modern motherhood is often supported externally but neglected internally. Women receive advice about caring for their children, yet very little guidance is available to help them navigate the inner changes happening to themselves.
Many mothers experience:
• identity confusion and loss of self.
• emotional exhaustion and burnout.
• pressure to meet cultural expectations of “perfect motherhood”.
• difficulty balancing work, ambition, and family life.
• inherited patterns from previous generations that affect how they mother and lead.
Without support, these pressures can affect women's mental health, relationships, leadership potential, and participation in social and economic life. The Circle addresses this gap by creating a structured space where women can explore matrescence consciously rather than navigating it alone.
What The Circle Does
The Circle is a 6-week guided program where women gather in a small, safe container to tell their stories and explore their personal journey through motherhood and identity transformation.
Each week focuses on a different developmental stage of inner life.
Participants engage in:
• guided discussions
• reflective journaling and life-mapping tools
• embodiment and awareness practices
• peer witnessing and shared learning
The Circle is intentionally kept small to allow depth, safety, and authentic connection.
Impact and Vision
The Circle aims to restore something many cultures once held strongly: women gathering in intentional community to understand and support one another through life transitions.
By helping women understand matrescence, the initiative contributes to:
• improved emotional wellbeing for mothers
• stronger family systems
• healthier leadership and decision-making
• greater confidence and personal agency among women
• intergenerational healing as mothers raise children with greater awareness
Over time, the vision is to expand The Circle into a wider ecosystem that includes digital learning tools, leadership programs, and partnerships with organizations seeking to better support women through the motherhood transition.
About the Founder
The Circle is facilitated by Faith Ong'iro, a certified motherhood coach and matrescence educator and founder of The Amot Network.
Faith’s work focuses on helping women understand the developmental transition of motherhood and reclaim their inner authority so they can lead their lives, families, and communities with clarity and intention.
Through coaching, teaching, and community spaces, she is building a framework that integrates personal transformation, cultural awareness, and leadership development for women navigating motherhood.
Invitation
Women navigating motherhood should not have to do so alone.
The Circle invites women to step into a guided space of reflection, learning, and transformation as they explore the profound journey of becoming.
