Suspected Rape and Murder case of Nepal

Suspected Rape and Murder case of Nepal

Like every day, on the morning of Falgun 23rd, Inisa had left home at 6 AM saying she was "going to tuition." She was a class 11 student at Usha Bal Batika School in Birendranagar-6. When her daughter, who usually returned home by 8 AM, hadn't come back by 9 AM, her mother called her. However, her phone was switched off.

"A short while later, I got a call from a number saying, 'Your daughter is unconscious in the forest of Shaheed Park. You need to come quickly,'" Inisa's mother says. When she reached Shaheed Park, which is connected to the Janajagaran Community Forest, Inisa was found unconscious. Her body was covered in blood. Seeing her daughter's condition, the mother fainted right there.

Other people who had arrived at the scene took Inisa to the Provincial Hospital in Kalagaun. But by the time they reached the hospital, doctors declared Inisa dead.

The victim's family has filed a report of murder and rape, alleging that she died after being gang-raped. The family claims that looking at the condition of the crime scene, it was clearly murder after a gang rape. "There were bruises all over my daughter's body, her hair had been pulled. Her bangles were broken. It looks like she was dragged down from a spot two-three meters higher up," the mother says. "They tortured her and killed her. The guilty must face strict punishment."

DSP Bhandari of the District Police Office, Surkhet, informed that the investigation into the incident is proceeding with seriousness. Police stated that they will reach a conclusion after receiving the post-mortem report.
