World pulse women in Ekiti and Osun driving change through digital training

Initiative Overview

In Ekiti and Osun States, many young women own smartphones but remain digitally invisible—unable to turn their voices, ideas, or businesses into meaningful online presence or income. This collaborative initiative brings together two World Pulse members across two Nigerian states to equip 600 young women (ages 18–45) with practical skills in content creation, digital and social media marketing, and beginner-friendly AI tools for writing and editing. By combining grassroots training, peer learning, and digital storytelling, the initiative transforms everyday phone use into tools for opportunity, visibility, and economic empowerment—proving that when women learn and build together, their impact multiplies.

The Problem

Despite growing smartphone ownership, many young women in Ekiti and Osun States:

Lack practical content creation and digital marketing skills

Do not know how to position their businesses or ideas online

Are unfamiliar with AI tools that could support writing, editing, and productivity

Face confidence and safety barriers in digital spaces

As a result, women remain excluded from digital income opportunities, visibility, and meaningful online participation.
