Part 3: Practice with Purpose “We train so we’re ready when a sister reaches out.”

Version 2:

> Today, my heart is full. 💛

Part 3: Practice with Purpose

“We train so we’re ready when a sister reaches out.

🎭 Role-Play Scenarios (Facilitator Guide)

How to Run:

Pair up trainees (1 speaker, 1 listener)

We give each pair a scenario card

5 minutes to act it out

3 minutes to reflect: What worked? What felt hard?

Rotate roles and repeat

> Tip: Create a safe space, no judgment, just learning.

Scenario 1: Am Afraid of the Nurse

Situation:

A 17-year-old girl says I want to start injectables, but I’m scared the nurse will scold me or tell my mom.

Peer Educator’s Goal:

Listen with care

Normalize her fear and make her understand that some clinics have youth-friendly services.

Offer to go with her

Scenario 2: My Boyfriend Says No to Condoms

Situation:

"A 20-year-old says real men don’t use condoms. But I don’t want to get pregnant."

Peer Educator’s Goal:

Affirm her right to say no

Suggest other methods (pills, injectables)

Talk about respect in relationships

Encourage her to protect herself with no shame

Scenario 3: I Think I’m Pregnant and I’m Not Ready

Situation:

A 16-year-old whispers: “I missed my period. I’m scared. I don’t want my parents to know.”

Peer Educator’s Goal:

Stay calm and kind

Offer to help her take a test

Talk about options: ANC, counseling, support

Never pressure, just guide

Scenario 4: My Aunt Says Family Planning Is a Sin

Situation: "A girl says, my family thinks it’s against God." But I want to finish school first.

Peer Educator’s Goal:

Validate her feelings

Many churches support healthy timing of pregnancy

Planning is all about care, not sin.

Focus on their health and not religion.

Scenario 5: I Want to Start ANC, But I Have No Money for Transport.

Situation:

A pregnant 19-year-old says, " I know I should go but I can’t afford the bus fare."

Peer Educator’s Goal:

Show empathy

Ask if she knows about free clinics or mobile units

Suggest walking with a group or contacting Honours Foundation for support.

Never shame, always solve

> I looked into their eyes and saw something powerful:

> Not just knowledge.

> But courage.

> Compassion.

> Hope.

> These girls will now go into schools, homes, and clinics armed with facts, empathy, and the quiet strength to say:

> You’re not alone. Let me walk with you.

> This is how change begins.

> Not with noise.

> But with a whisper that grows into a voice.

> Thank you to every girl who showed up.

> This is your movement.

> And to anyone who wants to join or support:

> We’re here. Let’s grow this together.

> We handed certificates to our first group of Peer Educators—brave young women from our community who’ve completed training.
