story
Life is like the water flowing in a river, it visits different lands, and refreshes many people, finally it ends in the seawater.
Thinking of the story of my life, I can only think in every person that has been part of it. First my parents, they taught me many helpful things as have a positive view and attitude to life. They are to me the inspiration, they are strong and hardworking people that I admire deeply. I am the fourth of 5 children. Cristina, Marco, Gabriela and Fernanda are my siblings, very good friends. My parents are Olga the strong woman and Julio the artist.
I grew up very happy, went to school (I did not like it very much) then to high school and then to college. After college in 2003 I went to visit my brother to the USA and also participated in a volunteer program. I lived in Woodburn OR, and in Aberdeen WA, worked as teacher and also visited immigrants families bringing them different kind of assistance, such as interpreter, or only to listen to their problems. In that time I found something important to my life: Learn, always learn from experience.
In 2006 I lived during three months in a high school located in a village called Mondaña in the Amazon of Ecuador. I worked there as a teacher and met very interesting people, the students bring me their friendship, I was lucky for meeting them, people from the Amazon are deeply connected to nature, I felt at home when I lived there.
Now I live in Quito, and work in a Publisher house. I dream with the day I could start a project of my own: a school for children and adults in the countryside. In the mean while I have to work and save some money.
I heard about World Pulse because of my brother, he gave me the link and I visited the blog, in the beginning I through it was very interesting, but I did not have much time to be use the internet. Then, a feeling of curiosity pushed me to think in all the things I could learn through it, after thinking and thinking about a week, I applied to Voices of our future. I am very interested in reading the material and do the assignments that give me the opportunity to do something good and different by now. I am happy for having access to this project and read other women stories, and having all those commentaries makes me feel encouraged to stand and show what I am and what I can do proudly.
