Nobody Posts Their Failure

They only post what they need you to know
Lately, I have found myself comparing my life to people I once thought I was ahead of.
There’s this old classmate I once thought I was ahead of back in school. I came across her post on Instagram, and honestly, it got to me. She looked like she was doing so well. She seemed to have everything figured out, and for a moment, I looked at my own life differently.
I am a fashion designer, but sometimes the money is little or there is no pay at all. I know what I can do, yet there are days I wonder if anything good will ever come from all this. I started asking myself, “How did she get so far?”
Then I remembered something: Nobody posts their failure.
She posted the beautiful part. I didn't see the struggles behind it.
People post the breakthrough, not the years they spent struggling. They post the new job, not the months they were unemployed. They post the successful business, not the days nobody bought from them.
Maybe I am only seeing the part of her story she chose to show me.
So, I am learning not to judge my whole life by someone else's highlight. I may not be where I want to be yet. But I am still trying.
And my story is still being written.
