media's stake

Unheard of are the muffled voices of vulnerable women and children across Kenya. Just as the biblical blind Bartimeus raised his voice for his sight to be restored so is Sauti raising that of our widows and orphans, to guarantee a restoration of their forgotten needs. I do not just want to raise it verbally but to inscribe it permanently, to let it linger in the minds of policy makers, agenda setters and all action- oriented members of our society. The mass media’s stake in promoting the elites’ agenda must be punctuated by social responsibility, owners of media themselves are elite and so in promoting their own needs they should also give a chunk back to the society; which is the ground on which they thrive.
