Introducing myself and my journal: When its time

About Me:
I am a 35 year old African American woman from the United States (San Francisco, California), currently studying in England where I will attain a PhD in Forensic Psychology. The fascinating part of attain my degree is that I will use it in the US and abroad, publishing research in the area of Forensics as it applies to, “Ethnic Minority Groups” in relation to juvenile offenders and their childhood traumas, the failed Justice of women in prisons with pre-existing mental health conditions, and other scopes of female related trauma. In my opinion, the need for the development of empowerment programs to deal with such traumas for Ethnic Minority Female Groups is yet to be promoted . Particularly in today’s society where globally- inequality for female persons is dominant, the call for such a development is even stronger.

Are we doing enough? Meaning, those of us who are able to join the efforts of others alike; capable of inflicting change by simply offering what we have gained through personal experiences ; coupled by education and opportunity, are we doing enough in supporting those who lack the natural resources of ‘will’, ‘self-worth’, and ‘confidence’? Each and every living human being, male or female, regardless of class, should be able to cultivate what’s naturally engrained in our post-birth development, without fear of retribution for such.

Like yourself and many others I too embrace and encourage equality and justice, and believe that to gain such we have to go to the source, which is why I am dedicated to helping our future generations of underrepresented populations in ill-societies, implementing change through enrichment and educational programs as well as sustainability programs on topics such as labor and trade. I encourage feedback and any support in this area of social justice.

My Passions:
Justice and equallity, family, self expression, art, travel, self-discovery

My Challenges:
Type 2 diabetes, negative self-talk

My Vision for the Future:
More ethnic minority individauls educated, and in high titled positions within the their own country and abroad
