Introducing myself and my journal: New Arts Axis

About Me:
I am the Director of New Arts Axis, where I work with international artists, technologists, NGOs and foundations developing participatory projects in service of social justice and human rights. I am also a Senior Consultant with the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program and the Co-Founder of Sparkwise, an online data and story platform funded by the MacArthur Foundation, Ford Foundation and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. I was also a waitress for 25 years, and served the Dalai Lama at Chez Panisse restaurant. When I got the call that my short film had gotten into Sundance, I was waiting on Robert Redford. I work on global projects that take the most powerful stories beyond the screen, and love more than anything to turn movies into movements, and provide opportunities for women and girls to rise up and change the world.
