Introducing myself and my journal: Hello from Faith at Restore!

About Me:
Hello! My name is Faith Huckel and I am the Executive Director and Co-founder of a non profit organization in NYC called Restore NYC (www.restorenyc.org). Restore provides aftercare services and safe housing to foreign-born survivors of sex trafficking in NYC. In October 2010, we opened the city's first long-term safe house specific to foreign-born survivors. Currently, we work with Korean, Chinese, and Mexican women. I'm also a steering committee member of the New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition, a group of organizations that have joined forces to increase public awareness of human trafficking in our communities and to enact anti-trafficking laws. I participate in and represent Restore in the
Coalition Against Trafficking in Women and the NYC Mayor's Anti Human Trafficking Task Force. It's a pleasure to join this group!

My Passions:
Social Entrepreneurship and fighting modern day slavery

My Vision for the Future:
To create a model of care for foreign-born survivors in the US that can be replicated in the other cities throughout the US.
