COLLABORATION FOR THE 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM ON GBV, 2025

This year 2025, as the world focuses on ending digital violence against women and girls, CWE-TECH reaffirms its dedication to creating safe, inclusive, and empowering digital environments.

Through our collaboration with Tafara Wellness Initiative, World Pulse and the Daring Girls, we continue to:

• amplify advocacy,

• strengthen girls’ digital confidence,

• promote safety and awareness online, and

• build supportive networks for young women navigating the digital world.

The 16 days 2025 event began with a vibrant march, where girls, mentors, partners, and some community members held placards advocating for an end to Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The procession sparked important conversations and helped raise awareness about both physical and digital forms of violence affecting women and girls today.

We then hosted an intensive workshop for 35 girls, drawn from the Binti Shupavu Program and CWE-TECH’s digital training classes. Led by a guest facilitator from Tafara Wellness Initiative, the session centered on this year’s global theme:

“UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.”

The workshop covered several critical topics, including:

• Understanding digital abuse

• Forms of digital violence

• How girls can stay safe online

• Tools, resources, and support systems available

• The power of unity and collaboration in combating digital harm

The conversation was timely and deeply resonant; many girls bravely opened up about their experiences, finding reassurance, community, and strength in the shared dialogue.

To close the session, the girls participated in a powerful affirmation exercise, embracing self-belief, courage, and resilience. They then received dignity packs provided by Daring Girls, ensuring they not only left empowered but also supported in practical ways.

Across all our programs, from digital literacy to mentorship to community engagement, we remain committed to equipping every girl with the skills, voice, and confidence she needs to thrive.

Together, we are shaping a future where every woman and girl can learn, work, and shine in digital spaces; free from violence, empowered by knowledge, and strengthened by community.
