Somalia's Economy is mainly dependent on postoralism. in the Rural areas , livestock trade continues yo be the backbone of the economy.
Before war , women from postoralist groups were not usually directly in volved in market transactions , and women's role
in the economy seemed less significant than was actually the case.
However, when it became difficult for men to travel for fear of government troops , the task of marketing livestock and
Buying foodstuffs and other goods for the family was increasingly and continues to be left to women.



in urban areas ,too women's role in the economy become more visible.
although their income are generally low and the majority of female entrepreneurs have little or no education , women are
increasngly forced to be come the main breadwinner,. the collapse of government has led to widespread un employment among civil servant ,, and has forced more women into the marketplace ,, pressurized to meet their familie's need.
The government was the main employer in somali " the volunary and private sectores are relatively small.
