Build a Life You’re Proud Of, Even If You Build It Alone ❤️
I honestly don’t understand why women are still expected to depend on others to become financially stable.
Growing up, I have often seen how society treats marriage as if it is the ultimate destination for a woman. A girl is expected to study, grow up, get married, and then depend on her husband or family for financial security. But I keep asking myself: what happens if that person doesn’t support her dreams? What happens if he doesn’t respect her ambitions, or if she simply wants something different from life?
Sometimes, I feel that staying single for life would be better than marrying someone who doesn’t truly support, respect, or value you.
I don’t mean that marriage is bad. I believe a healthy relationship can be beautiful when two people respect each other, support each other’s dreams, and grow together. But marriage should be a partnership, not a replacement for a woman’s independence.
A woman should not have to give up her education, career, dreams, or identity just because she gets married.
I know that pursuing education and building a career can be incredibly difficult for a woman, especially when she doesn’t have someone beside her to support or encourage her. There are moments when the journey feels lonely. There are times when financial difficulties, rejection, uncertainty, and social expectations make you question whether continuing is even worth it.
I have experienced moments like that myself.
There have been times when I wondered whether I was falling behind while everyone else seemed to be moving forward. Seeing other people achieve their goals can make you feel like you are not doing enough. But I have slowly learned that everyone’s journey is different.
Sometimes, surviving a difficult period is already an achievement.
I believe that financial independence is not simply about earning money. It is about having choices. It is about being able to make decisions about your own education, career, future, and life without constantly feeling that you need someone else’s permission or support.
That is why I want to become independent.
I want to study, develop my skills, gain experience, work hard, and create opportunities for myself. I want to be able to take care of myself and, someday, support the people I love as well.
I know it will not be easy.
There will probably be more rejection, more difficult days, more moments of self-doubt, and situations where I will have to start again. But I would rather struggle while building my own life than spend my entire life waiting for someone else to rescue me.
I also believe that women should not be made to feel ashamed for wanting independence.
Wanting a career does not make a woman selfish. Wanting financial stability does not mean she doesn’t value family. Wanting to study, travel, build a business, pursue a profession, or simply create something of her own does not make her less feminine.
Women deserve the freedom to decide what kind of life they want.
And for girls who currently feel alone, I want to say this: please don’t give up on yourself just because you don’t have enough support right now.
Your circumstances today do not have to determine your entire future.
Keep learning. Keep trying. Build your skills. Apply for opportunities. Ask questions. Make mistakes. Start again. Celebrate even the smallest progress.
You may not have everything you need today, but you can slowly build yourself into the person who can create the life you dream about.
I am still on my own journey. I don’t have everything figured out, and I know I have a long way to go. But I am learning to believe in myself even when other people don’t.
Maybe my journey will take longer than I expected. Maybe I will have to walk alone for a while. But I would rather walk slowly toward a life that belongs to me than live a life designed entirely by someone else.
At the end of the day, I don’t want my future to depend on whether someone chooses to stay in my life.
I want to know that I will be okay because I built something for myself.
I want to build a life I can be proud of even if I have to build it on my own ❤️.
