Breaking the Chains

In a small Turkish village, Aysel had always felt constrained by the expectations placed on her. It wasn’t an easy battle; she was disowned by her family and ostracized by the community. But with the help of local women’s rights groups, Aysel was able to leave the village and attend university. Today, Aysel is a renowned physician, advocating for the rights of women and girls, and she works to empower young women in rural areas to fight against traditional oppression.
