Woman in traditional jewelries passed on from generations to generations. The bigger the jewelries the higher the status in the societyMost of these women left their farm to come join our medical camp wearing traditional clothing and jewelriesSharing their thoughts during and after the earthquake ... some of them refuse to talk while some share their fears and apprehension now that the monsoon is comingTrying to engage in conversation with me thinking I am Nepali :)
I can't help look at these women when we were out doing our mobile camp in the village in Nepal. They are the image of hard working women to me ... the line on their faces, the veins in their hands are all signs of it.
Hard work had been their life. They till the land, plant the crops of the season and harvest to sustain the life of their families but they never forget their tradition. They wear it with pride, showcasing their status in the society without regard of what men or anyone would say.
Looking at them, being with them, interacting with them make me proud to have met such women ... they are beautiful in my eyes.
