WordchainWesnesday : Empowering parents

Our Neurodivergent Kids face GBV of a different form. Unknowingly perhaps ,but leaves a different and severe impact all the same ,etched permanently into their fears of the outside world .

Their behaviours are not what is deemed acceptable ,be it flaying arms ,or their reaction to loud noises or being in extreme crowded classrooms or public places .

The results is they often end up being bullied by their friends and often segregated and thus worsening thei behaviour .

What is even more saddening is ,in their quest to Help, the teachers transfer the ND kids to social skills classes .Rather than mark the neurotypical behaviour as what it actually is ,Bullying ,these teachers send the message to ND kids that their behaviour and lack of social skills is what is the cause of bullying .

Isn't this exactly what GBV is ,don't go out alone ,don't wear short skirts etc.dont provoke, don't breathe, don't trigger ?

We are expecting a Neurodivergent Kid to behave like a Neurotypical kid, which to them is forced behaviour ,Right ?

In this quest to make Parents aware ,I am starting this online awareness campaign where I wish more ND parents ,whether autistic themselves or have kids to join in ,so that we can create a more Acceptable online space for our kids and stop physical and digital abuse ,which for our kids is Bullying ,a form of GBV .
