The equipped me
He spoke to me harshly. He reacted to me based on what he had heard about me. But I have learned something: some women do not need handouts — they only need a helping hand to start and stabilize.
There was a time in my life when everything felt like a dead end. I was at a complete standstill. The only thing I could do was look at myself in the mirror and cry. I questioned the life I was living. The challenges around me felt overwhelming. I didn’t even know the solution I needed. I didn’t know what I truly wanted.
Yet, I had skills. I had learned crafts both online and physically. My heart was drawn to training teenage girls, but I did not know where to begin or how to begin. I thought schools would be the best place to reach them. Government school protocols were too difficult to navigate. Private schools were not interested in vocational skills because the curriculum did not accommodate them.
I had something valuable to offer, but I did not know how to sell it or where to start. What a dilemma.
In the middle of this confusion, God sent me a helper. She asked me one simple question: “What do you want?”
How do you explain your entire life’s struggle in one word?
The only word that came out of my mouth was: “Laptop.”
Even I did not understand why I said it.
Lesson
Sometimes clarity does not come before obedience. The first step may not make sense, but it may be the key to everything.
