Whats in your bucket list?

Dear lovely ladies,

I am writing a personal letter to all the women out there.

Until 2019, I was living my life according to either my father’s wishes or, later, my husband’s expectations. My choices were shaped more by obedience than by desire. But after my divorce, something shifted—I began doing things simply because I wanted to.

I started exploring everything I had once been denied, not because I was incapable, but because I was never allowed. Soon after my divorce, I got a tattoo, cut my hair, travelled solo, worked in different cities, made male friends, and stepped into experiences that had always felt off-limits. Each of these choices felt like reclaiming a small part of myself.

Then, somewhere around 2023–24, I hit a low phase. Life stopped exciting me again. I was confused—more than anyone else—about what was happening. That’s when I began therapy and also enrolled in a course on psychotherapy. I am learning so much about myself and about life. And yet, the more I learn, the more I realise how little I once knew.

One important thing became clear: once again, I want to do the things I have never done before—but this time with intention, awareness, and self-compassion.

So, I am curating a bucket list for 2026. I will keep adding to it, but some of the things on my list right now are:

Focusing on my physical, psychological, and spiritual health

Going on a trek

Running 5 kilometres

Securing a job that allows me to be financially independent and live well on my own

Journaling more consistently

Travelling more—and travelling light

Thinking through and building an idea of my own

In a world where many girls and women live a second-hand life—a life where they are taught that their worth lies in taking care of others while placing themselves last—I am choosing to put myself first.

I would love to hear from you, my lovelies. What’s on your bucket list? Even if you haven’t thought about it before reading this, pause for a moment. What is one thing you would like to do this week, this month, or this year? Share it with us.

Let’s inspire each other. 🌸
