Vision : Of new world

"One day, your journey will be someone else’s survival map."

Looking back at my memories today, I am struck by a singular, driving purpose: I dream of designing the system that once tried to silence me.

For too long, our systems and society have allowed girls to lose their way in the dark and women to suffer in silence. As a psychiatrist and a survivor, I am committed to dismantling the barriers that keep people trapped in pain.

My Vision for a New World

I imagine a world that understands this is not a war between the sexes, but a collective fight against a broken system. My design ensures:

Safety Over Silence: No girl should have to lose her way in the dark because she lacks a route to safety.

Humanity Over "Manhood": No man should have to suppress his emotions or hold back his tears because he was told to be a "man" rather than a human.

Dignity Over Stigma: No woman should have to suffer in silence within an abusive or broken environment because of the stigma of divorce. Divorce is not a stigma; it is often a survival map to a new life.

The WINGS Framework: Building the Sanctuary 🦋

Through The Dignity Dialogues, I am building this sanctuary using the WINGS approach:

W – Women’s Empowerment: Educating and empowering women to take control of their lives and make informed decisions.

I – Innovative Solutions: Developing technology-based and community-driven interventions to address Intimate Partner Violence (IPV).

N – Nurturing Support: Providing survivors with essential counseling, shelter, and legal aid.

G – Gender Equality: Challenging the patriarchal norms and the stigma of divorce that allow silence to thrive.

S – Safety and Security: Ensuring access to safe housing and robust protection for those in need.

My healing was for me; my design is for us.

The Tribe Behind the Vision

I stand here because of the love and encouragement of my tribe:

My Foundation: My family—Roop Sidana, Itee Sidana, Anoop Nagpal, and Ruchi Sidana.

My Mentors: The leadership at the Indian Psychiatric Society, including Sukanto Sarkar and Amrit Pattojoshi.

My Lifelines: Shweta Raina, Ishita Anand, and the close friends who make this work possible.

With your blessings, we are clearing the path for everyone who follows. We are turning survival into a sanctuary.
