To be a woman is to create

Sometimes I catch myself thinking about the life cycle of being a woman. How different that experience can be for women in different regions, facing different challenges, seeking different paths and living different lives. For me, now a mother, one of the many labels I carry, it has been absolutely fascinating to notice that women are all creative. We have the ability to make things, to form things and to take ideas and bring them to reality. We not only have the fortitude to take the gifts of nature and shape our world, we can shape the worlds of the people around us.

We are Creatives. I myself have embraced that about myself, I create art from my imagination, meals from ingredients, stories from my experience, books from my studies, relationships with the people around me, and the personalities of my children who cling to me to guide their future selves.

I am powerful, purposeful and have infinite potential. This is true for all women. We must make a world where our creativity can become real, our craft is made real, or voices build together to move and action the changes we need. Women are the pulse of the world, and everytime we remember that collectively, there is nothing we can't create.
