The weight of silence

Have you ever felt the walls closing in, but no one seems to hear you scream;

Imagine living in a world where your voice doesn't matter, where every word is silenced before it leaves your lips. For one woman,this isn't a nightmare but her reality.

She was once full of laughter, the world around her felt vast and full of possibilities but that was before the walls closed in on her, before her partner's gentle control slowly morphed into a vice she couldn't escape. At first it was small things like don't wear that, wear this instead or people don't really understand you the way I do,it seemed harmless at first but these words wrapped in affection slowly began to chip away at her independence and her world shrank to the four walls of their shared apartment.

The longer she remained silent, the more she wondered if her thoughts were worth sharing at all. There were days she could hardly remember the last time she spoke her mind without hesitation. Each word felt like betrayal to herself and to the love that had turned suffocating.

As days turned into years,it became clear that her silence wasn't just imposed by a single person but the world outside also seemed to whisper this was the price of being a good partner.

What was was once a partnership had turned into a cage, one built brick by brick with the help of society's judgement that a woman had to be quiet and perfect.

And one night in the stillness of the dark with a reflection from a glass window,she found herself standing in front of the mirror,her own reflection unfamiliar and distant; she didn't recognize the woman who had stopped dreaming,speaking and loving herself.

But something stirred within her,a quiet anger. She wasn't sure if she was strong enough to shatter the silence or bear it much longer.

In the end silence isn't just the absence of sound, it's the absence of self, forced into isolation by love, control , manipulation and society expectations. She now now faces the hardest choice of all, to break free or stay confined. And with every passing day,the question isn't just how long can she endure but but how long anyone in the same situation should?

We all have a voice ,but too often society tells us to silence it. What would it take for us to reclaim it?

And how many more women are quietly suffocating, suffering and trapped in the silence imposed by their partners, families,fear and society expectations?
