THE QUIET PROMISE

D

Every evening Amani sat onthe old wooden bench outside her home watching the sky fate into night. It was the same place her mother once sat humming softy and smiling at the sunset. After her mother passed away, the house become quite in a way that hurt. Laughter disappeared, and even memories felt heavy.

Amani carried her pain silently some nights she cried, other nights she just stared into darkness missing a voice that once called her name with love. One evening, she noticed a small plant growing beside the bench. It looked weak, yet it refused to die. She began watering itday and slowly,it grew stronger.

As the plant grew,Amani found herself healing too. She realised that although her mother was gone, the love she left behind still lived within her pain remained but hope returned.

Watching the sunrise one morning,Amani finally understood even after the darkest night morning always come. Sometimes we need to accept the situation and move on with life.
