The advice our mothers give us now is more open, encouraging and grounded in possibility.
I feel like It’s less about settling early and more about learning a skill, earning your own income, and knowing how the world works.
Many of them want us to stand on our own first, not out of fear, but out of confidence.
We’re also growing up with access they didn’t have. Information is everywhere. A phone can teach you, connect you, help you create, and even help you earn. That exposure alone has changed things. It makes independence feel possible and not intimidating.
I also see this clearly in my work in the media industry.
The support I’ve received from corporate PR women has been real and consistent.
They share projects, speak my name in rooms I’m not in yet, loop me into important conversations, and trust me with meaningful work. It’s not loud or performative but it’s practical support that moves things forward.
There’s still a group of women in the corporate world who move differently. Instead of supporting others, they operate from anger, insecurity, or competition, sometimes actively blocking the growth of younger women. It’s confusing to witness.
This is not right. There’s so much room for collaboration and shared success.
When women work together, opportunities multiply. Knowledge is shared. Confidence grows.
This generation is learning that doing life together doesn’t slow you down, it actually takes you further.
I hope we see more women lifting each other up instead of pulling each other down.
The corporate world can be brutal, and some women unfortunately play a part in holding others back.
It makes work stressful and demoralizing.
Who looks forward to Monday in such an intimidating, bully-like environment?
My dad passing away last year really made me take mental health issues seriously.
Before this, I didn’t fully understand how much mental health can affect your whole life including your career, relationships, self-esteem, and the way you show up for yourself every day.
I’m grateful for the women who have been holding me down, checking in on me, listening, and helping me find my footing during hard moments.
