THE EDITOR IN ME HAS AWAKENED

While traveling today, I found myself spotting errors on some of the inscriptions written on trucks — you know, those heavy-duty vehicles with bold quotes or phrases painted on them.

One of them read: “Is good to be good.”

Immediately, my inner editor cringed. It should have been: “It’s good to be good.” I quickly jotted it down in my notepad.

Then I saw another one that said: “If men were God.”

Again, “where” was wrongly used instead of “were.”

Another correction noted.

As I laughed quietly to myself, I remembered something my book editing coach, Madame General, once shared — how she once spotted an error on a flyer while traveling. She said, “If I were walking, I would have gone straight to tell them to correct it. But I was in a moving vehicle.” That story came alive for me today.

And in that moment, it hit me: my editorial eyes are now wide open. The editor spirit in me has officially come alive — spotting errors everywhere like a hawk. 😂

Writers and editors, can you relate?
