The Days I Couldn't Catch Up

These are the answer sheets i need to evaluate within 18th December.

A glimpse of recent works.

From last November till now, my days have felt like an endless race. These two months have been the busiest months of this year. I didn’t even realize how the days passed—finishing one task, starting another, and still running. Today, I want to share a little bit of those days with my Sisters here.

November was full of workload, exam preparations, and some horrible incidents that turned into family tensions. I was barely able to manage my household chores and take care of my children after finishing all my tasks. Though my husband helped me sometimes, it was still not enough. Some work could only be done by me.

Besides my teaching profession, I am also a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) student. It is necessary for enhancing my teaching qualities. The final exam of my B.Ed. course began on the 13th of November and lasted until the 23rd of November.

I applied for ten days of leave, but my principal allowed only five days (just the exam dates). So, I had to prepare for the exams while continuing my work and managing my family. I studied whenever my younger daughter was asleep, and during that time, I could sleep only four hours a day. However, I finished my exams well, and I am hoping for a good result.

Meanwhile, My madrasa’s final exams started on the 20th of November, and my elder daughter’s final exam was held on the 1st of December. So after finishing my own exams, I had to focus on helping my institution and also prepare my daughter for her exams.

During this stressful time, on the 23rd of November, my mother suddenly called and told me that my father’s shop was robbed the night before. Our whole family was in shock, fear, and tension. Nowadays, the security system and administration sectors are not so active in our country. So, we decided to avoid filing a case. But my father is still in fear about the valuable possessions we have left.

Both my elder daughter’s and my madrasa’s final exams are finished today. I finally have a little space and a little time for myself, though there is still a lot of work left. I have to prepare the results and evaluate about 480 exam papers by the 18th of December.

Due to all these circumstances, I couldn’t catch up with my sisters here at World Pulse. I couldn’t read their stories—the stories that rebuild my strength, energy, and confidence. I couldn’t comment on their posts to encourage them, and I also couldn’t publish any of my own stories.

But I joined the Encourager Party last month and had a great conversation with Tamarack mam from Canada and sister Sharmila from India. I also registered for the Training Tuesday course, but unfortunately, I could not continue for more than five minutes because of my busy schedule. I registered for today’s event on Women’s Human Rights, and I am hopeful that I can attend the full programme.

I believe we must keep going, whatever the situation is. And we women have the courage to handle any workload and face any good or bad incidents. We just need to have patience and strong motivation to rise and shine.
