We give to create change. We give our time, we dedicate our lives to bring change. We know that that this is what we were born to do - dedicate our lives to create needed change. Change in how we are treating our beautiful planet. Change to end all of the violence, all of the wars, all forms of violence against women and girls. All forms of this patriarchal male dominance and control.

I have known in my bones from girlhood that I was born to do this work, daring to dream that we might find each other. Celebrating that now we have each other. Born into a time in which we are able to weaving ways to be working all together, daring to challenge and transform this patriarchy. A global circle led by women saving lives, creating healing, causing peaceful transformation. A global circle who are dedicating our lives to change, for a world in which women and girls are respected in every way.

May we feel ourselves dancing in celebration together as we enter International Women’s Year 2026. May we celebrate each victory as we find ways to gather, ways to have our voices heard, ways to deepen and widen our paths forward together. May we celebrate each meeting, each healing, each new collaboration. May we continue to celebrate this home that we have together now here within worldpulse.org raising our voices together, finding ways to link arms and hearts with sisters everywhere, creating a library of hope, of action, of profound change - For Women, For Girls, Forever. Building a home together.

As March 2026 arrived the plans solidified, the details in place, the thousands of women began to meet in village celebrations, in towns and countries around the world. We shared stories and plans, news of how we would gather this year. Information of stories that need to be known and documented into our Library of what needs to change. Celebrations of our connections. Basking in the speeches of women who can dare to speak out, listing and documenting once again what needs to change, the details of what women are reporting from around the world: What violence continues, what news we have of successes, what plans we can continue to develop while taking this day, this month to celebrate all the ways that we are able to be working together now.

By deciding to use our lives to end all forms of violence against women and girls we are Giving to Gain a world of peace and respect. We are giving to gain women living free. We are giving to gain a planet that is cared for. An end to violence. An end to all of the ways women are forced into submission. And end to patriarchal control. We are told that patriarchy is the “normal” way. The expected way. The only way. We know different from the threads of our own Herstory, the times and places in which ancient tradition continues to be taught: the honouring of leadership by women throughout time, of societies built on peace and respect that we are told have never existed.

By Giving to Gain we give our time to this movement and gain the healing of all women in the global community we envision and know is possible.

By giving we gain by taking part we are in the Circle. By being in the Circle we have global news and pathways to build our work and weave our way together. We continue to be challenged on why we focus on women and girls. Our work is not done until we have freedom for every woman and girl. We are accused of being selfish and “behind the times”, prejudiced for openly stating this purpose. Yet where are we in this world we are building, if we do not have freedom? I can speak from more than half a century of excuses and broken promises. I can speak to the barriers that continue to be set up to make our work more difficult. I can speak to the healing that women have been doing and continue to do.

This year 2026 may we celebrate that we are stronger than ever. May we celebrate the young women who have found their ways into this Circle. May we celebrate that our connections deepen as we continue to grow. May we live to see an end to all forms of violence against women and girls. May we celebrate that now we are finding each other. Happy IWD 2026.
