STILL BECOMING

Seeking
Encouragement

My name is Faith Mwende Muli, a final-year student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. I joined World Pulse on September 24th, 2023, purely out of curiosity after stumbling upon the platform on social media. I had no idea that one curious click would quietly begin rewriting my story.
I love being pretty, yes. But I am far more obsessed with growing. And growth is exactly what World Pulse offered me. Shortly after joining, I won my first honorarium through a heartfelt piece titled DEAR WOMAN I ASPIRE TO BE, written to the woman I was daring to become. That moment was more than a win. It was a confirmation.

Since then, World Pulse has transformed me. I found courage in the stories of ambitious women, wisdom in their mentorship, and strength in community. Through opportunities shared by women on this platform, I have volunteered with three different organizations, gaining real-world experience and purpose beyond the classroom.
Most beautifully, I discovered a hidden gift here: storytelling. Last year, I secured two paid contracts crafting imaginative, atmospheric stories, one set in the Mara and another at the sea. That work earned me my third independently earned income and later led to winning the StoryFest Award at my university.
World Pulse did not just give me a platform. It gave me vision, voice, and belief. I am no longer just becoming. I am building, telling, and rising.
I have also learned not to overlook what has become familiar. Growth taught me that consistency can sometimes be mistaken for insignificance. When something becomes steady and available, we stop registering it as remarkable. So now, I intentionally celebrate small milestones. The quiet wins. The moments of showing up for myself when no one is clapping. Because I know what it feels like to give my all, to show up consistently, only for it to go unnoticed. And instead of allowing that to harden me, it taught me gratitude, discernment, and the courage to value myself even when others do not.
My real nightmare has never been failure. It is staying stuck. It is living beneath my highest potential and calling it comfort. I refuse that life.
My dream has always been bigger than just showing up. I dream of working with large, impact-driven organizations and, one day, building and running my own. I am already working toward this through a project and a long-term vision that continues to shape my steps.
I am deeply drawn to women-led spaces and international conferences. Funded or not, what matters most to me is being in rooms where ideas are exchanged, voices are amplified, and meaningful connections are formed. I believe in the power of learning, collaboration, and community, and I would genuinely appreciate any connections, opportunities, or conversations that align with this journey.
I know what I admire: confident, brilliant women standing on international stages, speaking with clarity, owning their stories, shaping conversations that matter. I see myself there, not because it is easy, but because it is possible.
I do not underestimate the power of networking, of community, of showing up in rooms where growth is inevitable. Dreams are only unrealistic to those who stop believing too early.
I imagine a future where I look back and smile, realizing I was brave enough to chase the life I truly wanted and it worked out. A future where I tell myself, Girl, you believed in you.
I am choosing faith over fear, clarity over comfort, and growth over familiarity. I am allowing myself to dream loudly, work intentionally, and trust that the courage to begin is already a form of arrival. I am not here by accident. I am here to learn, to build, to collaborate, and to rise alongside women who believe in becoming more.
To every woman reading this who is quietly evolving, celebrating small wins, or daring to imagine a life bigger than her current circumstances: keep going. Your consistency matters. Your voice matters. And the world is already making space for what you are becoming.
This is not the end of my story. It is the foundation. And I am excited to keep growing, connecting, and creating with this powerful World Pulse community.
