Southampton County Adopted the Proclamation

Today, I’m honored to share something deeply meaningful for the community:

I am proud to announce that **June has officially been proclaimed National Aphasia Awareness Month in Southampton County**—a step toward education, compassion, & inclusion for those living with communication disabilities.

This proclamation began as an individual-led initiative—a vision I carried with the hope of creating change, starting right here at home.

I’m incredibly grateful to **Supervisor Carl Faison** for his sponsorship & leadership in helping bring this forward, & to the Board of Supervisors who voted in favor of adopting it.

This support sends a powerful message: *everyone deserves to be heard, understood, & valued.*

Let this month be more than a title—let it be a movement.

A movement to listen more patiently.

To speak with empathy.

To create space for every voice, even when communication looks different.

💚 Spread awareness.

💚 Practice patience.

💚 Choose inclusion.
