Single mum struggling

I wake up to the sound of the city outside your window, the hum of generators and chatter of vendors in the market. Another day, another struggle in Port Moresby. You rub your eyes, thinking about the long day ahead. The kids are growing up fast, and you're determined to give them the best life possible.

I cook breakfast, and the kids come to the table, chatting about their day ahead. Your son's got a big soccer match, and your daughter's nervous about a test.I listen, offering words of encouragement, trying to be both mum and dad.

The centre's busy, kids everywhere, but I love it. I am in my element, teaching and caring for the little ones. But my mind's always on my own kids, wondering if you're doing enough.

After work, I queue for bus fare, the sun beating down on me. The kids are tired, and you're worried about money. Rent's high, and your salary's stretched thin. I make it home, cook dinner, and help with homework. The kids laugh and joke, and for a moment, I forget the stress.

But it's always there, lurking. The worry about tomorrow, next week, next month. How will I make ends meet? How will I give the kids the life they deserve?

I tuck them into bed, and I am left with the silence. I cry, just for a moment, letting it all out. I am strong, but it's hard. I am doing my best, but it's never enough..

A single mum struggling is not that easy 🙏🥺
