SHE IS NOT ALONE: Linking Young Mothers in Bamenda Cameroon For Antenatal Care.

Starting Antenatal care early significantly improves maternal and fetal health, reduces complications, and increases the chances of a safe delivery. Yet, many young wome especially those aged 10–25yrs face barriers like stigma, lack of awareness, transportation issues, or fear of judgment.
Pregnancy should never be a journey taken alone especially not in silence for many young women between 10 and 25, while discovering a pregnancy can feel overwhelming. Fear, stigma, or lack of information often delay their first step to visit a health center for antenatal care.
Early ANC saves lives.
The sooner a pregnant woman starts Antenatal care, the safer her pregnancy becomes.
No shame. No fear. Just care.
Every young mother deserves kindness, not judgment
Week 1 to 12? That’s the golden window.
First trimester is the best time to start ANC before complications arise.
Know it. Share it. Link her.
If you know a pregnant girl, help her find a clinic, a nurse, or a safe person.
Your body. Your baby. Your right to care.
Health is not a privilege, it’s a right for every young woman.
N.B: The first ANC appointment can change everything. It’s where a young mother hears her baby’s heartbeat for the first time. Where she learns how to eat well, stay safe, and protect her health and she’s no longer afraid, but empowered.
On this Women’s Day, let’s make that first step easier. Let’s reach girls in schools, in villages, in cities with love, not judgment. Let’s connect them to care early, so every mother and every baby gets the healthy start they deserve because when we support her early we protect two lives.
- Her pregnancy doesn’t erase her right to care. Early ANC is not a favor it’s a lifeline.
- We don’t need more silence. We need more clinics, more compassion, and more courage to speak up.
-If we truly value women’s health, we must stop waiting for her to come before we start walking with her.
- Stigma doesn’t protect girls. Support does. Let’s replace judgment with justice, one ANC visit at a time.
- A 15-year-old mother is not a mistake. She is a girl who needs love, care, and a chance at a healthy future.
- Early antenatal care isn’t just medical it’s moral. And we’re failing young mothers when we delay it.
- This Women’s Day, I’m not asking for flowers. I’m asking for clinics that welcome girls without shame.
- Every missed first trimester is a preventable risk. Every early visit is a victory.
-We track data on disease. Let’s start tracking our compassion.
- I speak because she’s afraid to. I act because her silence could cost her life.
In our communities, pregnancy at a young age is often met with shame. But I’ve seen the truth. These girls aren’t lost. They’re looking for a hand to hold. So we link them to early ANC not with judgment but with love, education, and action.
Furthermore, many miss early antenatal care not because they don’t care, but because the system isn’t built for them. That’s why I’m speaking up.
