Self Introduction

Hello World Pulse family,

My name is Venetta J. Smithen, and I am joining this community with a heart full of hope, purpose, and a desire to connect with women who are lifting their communities in powerful ways. I joined World Pulse because I believe that when women’s voices rise, entire nations rise with us. I’ve spent years working in the public service and have now embarked on building my creative profile with digital projects that empower children, families, and communities. I see World Pulse as a space where those dreams could grow through sisterhood, collaboration, and shared wisdom.

My deepest inspiration comes from my Caribbean roots, my children, and the constant reminder that even small steps can spark big change. I am a writer, a creator, and a community-focused innovator. I love storytelling, digital learning, and building tools that help others, whether it’s a children’s book celebrating our culture, an AI project supporting public services, or a course teaching youth new skills.

I was born and raised in Saint Kitts, a beautiful island in the Caribbean where culture lives in every drumbeat, every carnival costume, and every story passed down through generations. My favorite thing about my country is our spirit. We may be small in size, but we are powerful in resilience, creativity, and community love.

My first name, Venetta, was chosen for its uniqueness. Growing up, I didn’t always appreciate it because it made me stand out, but today I embrace it as a reminder that I was never meant to blend in. My path, my ideas, and my voice are mine for a reason.

As I begin this journey with all of you, I’d love to know: What is one thing you wish someone had told you when you first started pursuing your dreams?
