Rising Anyway
I was raised by a single mother, and as the first born child, responsibility came early. I was forced to drop out of school so I could help fend for my younger siblings. At a time when I should have been dreaming freely, I was learning how to survive. Even then, I carried a quiet belief that my story was not meant to end there.
I later returned to school and completed my O Level and A Level. Financial limitations made it impossible for me to pursue further formal education, but I refused to let my circumstances define my future. I turned my hands and creativity into survival tools, working as a hairstylist and professional dancer, learning through practice and persistence.
I got married at 21, grew my hair and beauty business, and then faced another life altering chapter divorce, with three children depending on me. It was painful and overwhelming, but it forced me to rise in ways I never imagined.
From that rebuilding came purpose.
Today, I serve as National Director for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Youth and Women in Farming for Economic Development (YWF4ED), where I work to empower youth and women through agriculture, innovation, and economic inclusion. I am also the Chief Operating Officer of FarmGuard, a precision agriculture company , specializing in Drone Technology, supporting climate smart farming and food security. In addition, I am the CEO of Real Touch Beauty Studio, a business born from the same skills that once helped me survive.
I am also active in film production, using storytelling to amplify African voices, and in pageantry, where I mentor young women to see leadership, confidence, and purpose beyond the crown.
My life is proof that broken paths can still lead to powerful destinations. To every woman on World Pulse: you are not behind, you are building. Keep going. 🌍💛
