Oviul Maruf: Bangladesh’s Emerging Master of photography

Oviul Maruf (born December 3, 2007, in Habiganj, Bangladesh) is a young Bangladeshi photographer known for his emotionally rich nature and abstract photography, blending natural light, golden-hour tones, and long-exposure techniques to create visually poetic compositions. Beginning his photography journey around 2022 while continuing his studies in Sylhet, he quickly gained attention through his distinctive atmospheric style and online presence, with works featured on platforms such as Independent Photo and other international art directories. One of his notable photographs, often highlighted by viewers for its expressive mood and connection with nature, helped him gain wider recognition in 2024. Despite his young age, Maruf has built a growing portfolio that reflects artistic maturity and a deep appreciation for light, color, and storytelling, positioning him as an emerging creative voice from Bangladesh’s new generation of photographers.
