Encouragement

Today, we conducted our second school outreach program on child rights and ending child marriages at Mayera Primary School in Blantyre.
It was a powerful and impactful session, with over 1,000 students pledging to take action in ending child marriages within their communities. What stood out most was that this was not just an awareness talk, it was a space for coaching, empowerment, and positive role modelling.
We also recognized 32 students who have shown significant improvement in their academic performance. As a way of encouraging their growth, we awarded them exercise books and introduced structured follow up sessions to help them stay focused, set clear academic goals, and aim for top positions in their classes. The excitement, confidence, and determination in the room were truly inspiring.
Seeing teachers actively lead and support the discussions was equally encouraging. Their engagement reinforces how critical these conversations are in shaping safer, more informed communities.
Most importantly, the students expressed how much they value platforms like this; spaces where they can strengthen their confidence, be heard, and feel empowered to shape their own futures.
We firmly believe:
“Ending child marriage begins in the classroom where education and information empower children not only to know their rights, but to find the courage to dream beyond limitations and unlock the future they truly deserve.”
The journey continues and we look forward to the long term impact this initiative will create.
