My elders taught me early

Be ready

They taught me that patriarchy runs deep

That as women our activism runs deep

That women are brilliant

That we know in our bones

That it has long been intentional that we be attacked

But we know

Treasuring from each other bits and pieces of the truth

That it has not always been this way

We know

That we are here to create change

Having the gift of each other

Who know our purpose in life

Here to stay strong

In the knowledge of what we know

That what we believe is not only necessary

But possible

We carry this in our bones

We recognize each other

We celebrate each other as we meet along the way

Teachers and Speakers

Healers and Herstorians

Forging, re-creating ancient sites

For gathering

For healing

For holding strong

For holding herstory

The stories kept from us

The traces of strong women leaders before us

Carefully pieced together

Held sacred

We are Amazons who have had the good fortune to meet

To be on this journey together in this lifetime

Our cultures, our ceremonies, our power

Here to carry the flame of Amazons past

Here to keep known the Herstories

We continue the work of our foremothers
