Seeking
Collaboration

The militias entered the city and advanced. They stormed houses and homes, heavily armed with batons. They found her alone. A beautiful woman, well over fifty, without a guard or protector in a war zone. They warned her to leave her home, the home she had built by spending long hours in the market to provide for her young children. Where could she go? There was no one to turn to. She told herself, "They are my own people; they will have mercy on me and won't harm me." But this time, she didn't grasp the reality. When they found her, they showed her no mercy... not at all. At midnight, my phone rang. It was a friend from the United States. Her voice was trembling. A woman who had been subjected to a blatant violation. Her condition was deteriorating. The infection was spreading throughout her body. The doctors were warning: time was running out. They showed no mercy for her age and frailty. I had no funding. There was no sponsor. But I had something stronger: a solidarity network I built through the Nora Initiative.
The Nora Initiative was born from a simple belief:
No woman should die because the world was slow to respond.
Within hours, I began coordinating with compassionate doctors who believed that a woman's dignity was paramount.
The surgery was expensive, and her condition was critical. Viruses were invading her bloodstream, and her life was slipping away before our eyes.
We acted swiftly.
The medical team was secured.
The operation was performed at the crucial moment.
It wasn't just a medical intervention.
It was a declaration that women's lives are not a mere formality.
She survived.
Today, that woman lives among her grandchildren.
Every Friday, she calls me simply to pray for me.
That weekly call is not just a personal expression of gratitude—it's a living testament to the power of women's solidarity.
Whom did I support?
A woman on the brink of death.
What did I offer?
Immediate leadership, cross-border coordination, and a medical and humanitarian solidarity network, all without waiting for financial support. What was the impact?
A life saved.
A family kept together.
And an initiative that proved change doesn't always require huge budgets—but rather a courageous decision at the right moment.
This is Nora's initiative.
A phone line open in the middle of the night.
A bridge between continents.
And a network of women who refuse to let any of them fall alone.
#GivingToReceive
When I supported one woman, I didn't receive an award.
I gained certainty:
That solidarity can overcome even the darkest moments.
"What I did wasn't a heroic exception, but a model of what can happen when we trust women's leadership—when we support one woman, we save entire generations."
Bloom like a daisy
Scatter your fragrance like jasmine
O fragrant one, with your curves and shoulders
O braids of longing
Do not be silent
But carry above your head the stalks of unborn wheat
But sow anticipation and waiting
For an age that will not reveal
Carry your womb, heavy with children
Let them watch the sunrise in the fields
Do not be defeated
But light the firewood in the winter's chill
Illuminate the hut
And cook some soup
Then walk barefoot on the paths of glory
Perhaps some passersby will raise the bright banner
You are the conqueror
Of injustice and tyranny
You are the crusher of stubbornness, let it die
And you are my lady and the mistress of the world
And some of the brilliance from you is a flood of security
On your third day of March
On your day, O woman of the bread of tenderness
And the aroma of coffee
On your feast day, scatter the basil blossoms
Long live the daughter of Adnan
And let us live in Your embrace
A lush branch
