I carried the weight of bride price,
Chains of culture binding my life.
Years of bruises, silence, and tears,
Yet I held on—for my daughters, my peers.
Peace is laughter in the night,
Four voices rising, pure and bright.
We joke, we dream, we speak our truth,
Building futures, reclaiming youth.
Peace is found when laws take stand,
When leaders rise and guide the land.
No fists, no swears, no fear to bear,
A safer world, a breath of care.
Peace is my eldest at university gates,
My second daughter shaping her fate.
Their steps are proof, their courage my song,
That love and strength can right the wrong.
Peace is freedom, peace is choice,
Peace is a woman’s unbroken voice.
And if I could speak to leaders near,
I’d say: make peace real, make justice clear.
