My Impact and Update

Even though I had been following World Pulse since 2009 when I read Half the Sky where World Pulse was mentioned, I didn’t “take the plunge” to actually make a difference like I so clearly wanted and needed until fall of 2016 when I saw a World Pulse email asking for volunteers. Yes, it was for graphic design but I was soon signed up to be a Listener, which is now an Encourager, and, wow, what a ride it’s been since then. I haven’t looked back. In fact, I wish I had done it sooner. A few things had happened since 2009, though. One was the fact that my husband and I had relocated to Spain for a slower pace of life, but also, for me, to realign with, and go after what my passion(s) are, to find and connect with my soul tribe, and to make a difference in this world; in my own unique and special way that only I can do. Also, we weren’t working as much now, and World Pulse had synchronistically done a branding change, which had made it more enticing to me as it seemed more relatable and not something that was perhaps out of my reach anymore, since I had grown a lot spiritually and mentally, too. To me, none of these factors were coincidental. I always have firmly believed in everything happening for a reason, and World Pulse, and my whole experience with World Pulse, has not been any different. I suppose in some ways I take this for granted, now that I’m used to be part of the community and it feels natural. That doesn’t mean to say that I ever take any of my beautiful, soul sisters, the World Pulse “experience,” Jensine, Dawn, Hannah, or the rest of the staff for granted either, though. Quite the contrary. Every World Pulse sister that I have the honor to connect, encourage, support and engage with is a precious gift to me. I learn at least one lesson from everyone I come into contact with, and I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that I am so fortunate to have gained so many soul tribe sisters, that I had spent years yearning for, nonetheless, and that will remain in my life until the end of my days. We may not stay in as close contact with each other as we do now, or they may become a bigger part of my life, as I venture down my own path of fulfilling my own, targeted mission and purpose more closely, to help encourage and support as many girls and women worldwide, still.

Having said that, as a relatively, newly appointed Ambassador, a role that I am truly honored to have been selected for, and of which I take very seriously, I don’t feel like my personal role and involvement in World Pulse has changed that much. I still support all my soul sisters as much as I possibly can, whether it’s finding collaborators or resources for them, providing encouragement, mentorship, and love, helping them with the occasional graphic design or proposal, or even spreading the word about their fundraiser or latest initiative. I also still spread the word about World Pulse just as much as I used to do with friends, family, anyone I talk to, so that part hasn’t changed. If anything since I’ve become an Ambassador, I’ve become more fired up about speaking about World Pulse and spreading the word and love of the community. I’ve recently been thinking, however, that World Pulse is such a magical, safe haven, and that perhaps it isn’t for everyone. I’ve had people tell me it’s too intense or it’s a lot to keep up with. To me, it’s just where someone’s passions and priorities lie. The mission, purpose and goals of World Pulse are so closely aligned with my own that I don’t see it as too intense or a lot to keep up with. Sometimes, admittedly, I would like a break, but then I think of all the stories, posts, love, community that I would miss out on. This is the challenge for me. I know someday I won’t have as much extra time to allot to encouraging my sisters in the community, but I know in my heart, my soul sisters will always be a part of my journey and a part of my life, whether it’s as actively as it is now remains to be seen. But please know that each and every one of you have made a difference in my life, and continue to do so, every day. I am who I am today because of World Pulse. My life has been irrevocably changed due to this loving, supportive, transformative community of soul, trailblazing sisters, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so truly blessed for everyone that I have met with on this platform. And we are all so truly blessed for Jensine having created this loving, supportive safe haven for all of us, and continuing to make it a thriving success, too. We all wouldn’t be where we’re at today, potentially, without having met so many soul sisters to support us on our journeys and endeavors. If I hadn’t joined World Pulse, I wouldn’t have met my soul sisters, Francisca (lovingly known as “Franky” now), or Vweta, for a start, who are now co-founders of my soul organization, Liluye.

Recently, I’ve been feeling a little demoralized, wishing that my soul organization, Liluye, (to help develop safe, creative havens/workshops for trafficked and IDPS women worldwide) would take shape quicker, that I could register it faster and easier, and that I had all the experts, collaborators and funding in place that I needed, but as usual, my soul sisters came to help me through. Most notably, Karen Axalan has been my lifeblood of support for quite some time now. She’s such an amazing, beautiful and authentic soul and I’m so truly honored to be her friend and sister. And Stella Paul and Urmila Chanam also both reached out recently to ensure that I received extra love, support and encouragement and it really helped me to get through and to realize my efforts are appreciated already. I want to extend extra hugs and kisses to the three of you, and everyone else that supports and encourages me regularly, like Tam, Fanwi, Marie and Seka. May you all be abundantly blessed now and forevermore.

In regard to Liluye, please continue to let me know if you know of any experts, mentors, or connections in the anti-trafficking sector that would like to collaborate or volunteer, and if anyone knows of a great, social media person who would be willing to either barter, who needs more experience, and/or is passionate about anti-trafficking/slavery. I need a social media person to manage Liluye’s Facebook page and to create graphics and copy for it, too. I would prefer to have someone who is organized, detail-oriented, has some experience in creating graphics and copy, Mailchimp, and some social media, FB page management/campaign experience. In the future, it will be a paid position managing more than just a FB page. Most likely it will be a LinkedIn or Instagram social page, as well as corresponding, monthly MailChimp newsletters. Please message me, if interested, or if you know of someone who would be. This is what has been created so far: https://www.facebook.com/LiluyeSpirit/. Thanks in advance!
