Micro Opportunity Club - an update

I have announced my second initiative Micro Opportunity Club some time back. I was able to launch the first initiative, but hasn't launched the second one. Listenerpreneur club was an initiative to share stories. But I felt that these women need platforms to exhibit their skill and make an income, however small it be, but without a huge loss. Those of you who wish to know about this initiative, here is a brief.

Micro Opportunity Club is an initiative born from the belief that small is powerful. It aims to empower women—especially homemakers—to transform their skills, crafts, or passions into income-generating activities. These are not large-scale ventures or complicated startups, but simple, meaningful opportunities—like selling a single sustainable product at local flea markets, exhibitions, or online platforms. Each micro business becomes a step toward financial independence and confidence. When women come together to create and showcase one product with purpose, they not only earn but also share stories of resilience, creativity, and community-driven sustainability. This initiative celebrates the idea that micro actions can lead to macro change.

My target area for this initiative is my home state, Kerala. My target groups are housewives and new mothers who are housebound, yet looking forward to leverage occasional opportunities. I am currently searching for volunteers near me. My focus through this platform is to create awareness about these micro opportunities - and that's what I call them - to potential womenfolk with a sustainable product.

We are approaching December in a few weeks. In my neighbouring district of Calicut (Kozhikode), there is a Craft's Village called Sargaalya, to be precise at Iringal. International exhibition is conducted every year by the end of December and lasts till the first week of January. I don't know how the stalls to international clients are allotted. If anyone here is coming to this place as sellers, let me know. And if anyone is looking forward to opportunities here, please do DM me.

I am not limiting myself to Kerala. This thought struck me last week when I attended an EXIM webinar, and was part of their general WhatsApp group. Someone was discussing about the cost that arises on the sidelines of starting an export business. I asked him if he had tried local markets. He told me it will take around 25-40 lac rupees for opening a business. That's when I asked him if he was interested in local exhibitions and gave him a few tips. That's the moment I realised I can take it nationally - informing non-Keralities about these opportunities. And today I thought why can't I post about this opportunity on World Pulse as we are approaching international exhibitions. Currently I have no clear inputs on the stall rate, how the allotment is done. But if anyone is interested, I can go there and get first hand information.
