Introduction🌸

Hello World Pulse community. My name is Alyssa Amira, and I’m writing from Malaysia with a heart full of hope and gratitude.

It means so much to finally step into this global circle of women, a space where our stories are honoured, and where our journeys are embraced with compassion. I joined World Pulse because I believe in the power of storytelling, in the healing that comes from sisterhood, and in the magic that happens when women support one another. I hope to find solidarity, guidance, inspiration, and above all, a place where I can both learn and contribute with sincerity.

A little about my journey:

I am a transwoman, and my path has been anything but easy. I recently began my Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), and stepping into this chapter of my life has been one of the bravest decisions I’ve ever made. It’s a journey filled with emotional highs, sudden fears, unexpected joys, and moments of deep reflection. Some days feel empowering, like I’m finally aligning with the woman I’ve always been inside. Other days are bumpy, challenging, and weighed down by uncertainties, societal pressures, or emotional exhaustion.

But through all of it, I’ve learned that transition is not only physical, it is deeply emotional, spiritual, and transformative. It has taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of loving myself even when the world feels heavy. My journey inspires me to spread positivity because I know how isolating it can feel. I want to be here for others who are searching for understanding, encouragement, or a reminder that their identity is valid and beautiful. If sharing my story can give someone else courage, then my journey has purpose beyond myself.

The meaning behind my name:

My name, Alyssa Amira, holds deep meaning for me. “Alyssa” often symbolizes light, truth, and clarity, while “Amira” means “princess” or “leader”. I chose this name intentionally during my transition because it reflects both softness and strength. It represents who I am becoming, a woman who leads with empathy, who stands with dignity, and who chooses authenticity even when the path is difficult. I love my name because it is a promise to myself: to grow, to heal, and to honour the woman I am.

Before I close, I would love to ask the wonderful women of this community:

What is one lesson or piece of wisdom that helped you grow stronger during a difficult chapter of your life? And how did it shape the woman you are today?

I look forward to sharing more of my journey, learning from your stories, and building meaningful connections. Here’s to courage, sisterhood, and the many ways our voices can uplift the world. 🌸
