I #GiveToGain - A Sister owned her Digital Voice

“Hello dear Keturah. You taught us about website creation, and I’m happy to say that I now have my own website…”

When I received this message from a sister on World Pulse, I paused, and smiled deeply.

In August 2025, as a Change Champion, I facilitated a Tech4Good Thursday training on web design. I shared practical, step-by-step guidance on how women could build their own websites, from structuring pages and creating meaningful content to confidently pressing “publish.”

My intention was to demystify technology and remind women that digital spaces belong to us too.

Among the participants was a sister who was attentive, curious, and determined. Even during the session, it was clear she wasn’t learning merely for information, she was learning for transformation.

When the workshop ended, she didn’t stop.

She practiced.

She experimented.

She built.

She had taken what she learned and turned it into ownership.

Now, I #GiveToGain become real to me

I gave knowledge.

I gave time and clarity.

I gave encouragement and belief.

But what I gained was far greater.

I gained the joy of seeing a sister step fully into her confidence. I gained the fulfillment of knowing she no longer has to wait for someone else to tell her story. She now has a digital home for her advocacy - a platform to amplify her voice, connect with partners, and lead boldly.

The ripple effect is powerful. When one woman learns to build her own platform, she strengthens not only her voice, but our collective voice.

There is a special joy in helping a sister own her story. Because when one woman steps into her power, she quietly gives others permission to do the same.

And that is why I continue to share what I know.

This is the power of women teaching women.

This is the power of access.

This is the power of World Pulse.
