I Didn’t Know What Support Felt Like—Until I Met World Pulse

Myself and my world pulse mentor Akshata

I dont know what it means to receive support from others until I met World Pulse.

This is my story…... Paraphrased..

I am a very inquisitive person who loves searching the Internet for informations, that was how I found World Pulse and joined 3 years ago. I read stories of other women, shed tears, encouraged them on there initiatives and told myself, this is home.

I decided to start sharing my stories after some months, less scripted… real stories….Just the raw fact.

That same year I joined, I was featured in a Podcast by MimiYouyou and Empathy Show, cutting across the globe, to hear how different women share their stories and are thriving just because I shared a story on here.

I was ex-nervous (excited and nervous at the same time). That Podcast appearance went well and I sometimes go back and listen to it.

I shared on this platform what I have been doing, how I have volunteered with over 5 NGOs working for free, all for the love of empowering others. Ijoined some encourager parties and was so excited to e with women i can learn from daily. I saw hell growing up, it was always a war….. but thanks be to God, I always overcame.

I made choices by God’s help not to look like where I am coming from but where I am going and on that journey, help others as much as I can.

Fast-forward, excited about meeting other women in this platform, i got a message in my inbox here to share an Initiative based on the fact that I was an encourager and I have been sharing my stories too (working with children, teenagers, etc). Always check you inbox and attend to it.

Then, I finally wrote an initiative which my fellow sisters dropped supporting comments on, but I am yet to get that off the ground because it’s a huge project.

Notwithstanding, I kept up with smaller projects within my capacity and always gave a helping hand to another young girl I find around me. Due to that, @kirthi sent me a message here and asked me to reach out to some leaders here and I did. That was when I met my Mentor @ Akshata.

We are miles apart, but the love feels like home. She is an Engineer from India working in the USA, but I am from Nigeria, brought together by World Pulse.

Women supporting women. Not worried by distance, she gave me listening ears and was ready to mentor me.

God bless our founder. What a kind heart filled with empathy to start World Pulse, a home where I don’t have to worry about the color of my skin and share my fears, wins, initiatives unapologetically and still get support too

I wrote stories about me and all I had struggled with and all I was doing. Along that, I also celebrated other World Pulse sisters doing amazing things, then I found home.

Excited.

My voice was being heard. I didn’t keep the news to myself but went abroad like that woman by the well to tell others…

Come and see, a community that is changing lives across the globe called World Pulse. I told a lot of young girls, other women going through a lot, and encouraged them to come read stories from women across the world so they would find happiness, purpose, and love no matter what they are going through.

I told the founder of one of the NGO's I worked with for free as a volunteer for a while about World Pulse and how it can help us spread our initiatives to reach more young girls, collaborate with others etc..

Not quite long after, she was among those featured some months ago as a Featured Change Maker via her foundation helping girls with cancer treatment. Another friend of mine recently wrote her first story on World Pulse with the initiative she does for young girls in Lagos.

Some others ladies who also joined are quiet but reading others stories and initiatives daily because i referred alot of them here and even welcomed them to my newfound family.

Now, why am I writing this today?

I want to thank World Pulse because I am starting to receive support, not just for the work I do, but for ME as a person. I have always being the type that gives support like my life depended on it. I have always dreamt of furthering my education, and if you read some of my old stories, you might find where I wrote about it.

Dear World Pulse, I can’t thank you enough for the mentor you blessed me with, @Akshata. She made it her mission to reach out to me twice a month, even with her busy schedule. I told her about my plans for my NGO, and with her help, it was registered and some small projects were executed already.

It didn’t end there.

I will also be going back to school for my MSc this year all because I met World Pulse. She is ready to support me on this journey.

Today, I have a registered NGO and I am ready to roll out initiatives to help teenagers in my community as I also further my education.

World Pulse did not just amplify my voice, it surrounded me with women who believed in me before the world did.

It reminded me that stories matter, that empathy builds bridges, and that when one woman rises, she reaches back and lifts others with her.

If you have a heart to help others, you will also receive help when it matters most.

Thank you, World Pulse.

Thank you, World Pulse sisters.

Thank you, Mentor Akshata.

I am deeply grateful.
