Green-Top School has been recognized as the Best School in Wakiso District in an award announcement made today, marking a major milestone for the institution as it continues to expand its presence in Uganda’s private education sector.

The school, located in Maya-Nanziga along Masaka Road in Wakiso District, approximately 24 kilometres from Kampala, operates under the motto “Learn today, lead tomorrow,” which reflects its focus on academic excellence, discipline, and holistic learner development.

The recognition is being celebrated within the school community as a reflection of its growing reputation in both academics and co-curricular development. The institution offers nursery and primary education, with a strong emphasis on combining classroom learning with practical skills, sports, and creative activities.

Green-Top School has in recent years invested in a wide range of co-curricular programs, including music, dance, drama, athletics, chess, and swimming. The availability of swimming facilities has particularly strengthened its physical education program, allowing learners to develop endurance, confidence, and essential water safety skills.

The school is led by director Karim Kawesa, who has overseen its development and expansion. Kawesa is associated with efforts to position the institution as a modern learning environment that integrates academics with talent development and leadership training.

Under his leadership, the school has continued to strengthen its curriculum, which includes English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The institution also emphasizes values-based education aimed at shaping disciplined and responsible learners.

School administrators say the award reflects years of consistent effort in improving teaching standards, infrastructure, and student development programs. They also highlight teamwork among staff, learners, and parents as a key factor behind the recognition.

Green-Top School continues to promote core values such as integrity, excellence, responsibility, leadership, and multicultural awareness, which it says are central to its mission of producing well-rounded and future-ready learners.

As competition among private schools in Wakiso District increases, the recognition is expected to further boost the school’s profile and reinforce its position as one of the emerging education institutions focused on holistic learning and student development.
