Gender Responsive Governance in Entrepreneurship

Ice Breaking with the participants

I had the privilege of conducting the international capacity building programme on Gender Responsive Governance in Entrepreneurship at Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India. This experience has been deeply fulfilling and thought-provoking in so many ways.

We hosted 38 participants from 22 countries — vibrant, curious, and deeply committed individuals working across diverse sectors. We explored what it truly means to make governance and entrepreneurship ecosystems gender responsive — not just in intent, but in design, implementation, and impact.

💡 Key Takeaways:

1. True gender responsiveness goes beyond representation — it lies in integrating gender perspectives into every policy and programme decision.

2. Strengthening institutional capacities and accountability mechanisms is essential to ensure inclusivity.

3. Peer learning and cross-country dialogues are powerful tools for building understanding and collective solutions.

4. Empowering women entrepreneurs contributes directly to resilient, equitable, and sustainable economies.

I’m grateful to all the participants for their warmth and engagement, to the speakers who shared their insights so generously, and to the EDII team for their seamless support throughout.

It’s experiences like these that remind me why I love what I do — creating spaces for dialogue, learning, and transformation.
