From silent battles to purposeful voice

My voice matters. My story is power. I share not for sympathy but to spark change, heal, and inspire
Hello, I’m Melvina. My journey hasn’t been easy, but through it all, I’ve learned the power of resilience and hope. I grew up facing challenges that many wouldn’t understand — losing my dad as a baby, being misunderstood, judged, and struggling with loneliness.
An outgoing child, I slowly became quiet — not because I had nothing to say, but because life dimmed my light. I was bullied in school, labeled unfairly, and betrayed by people I trusted. I smiled in public, laughed with others — but inside, I was breaking. I became insecure, battled emotional exhaustion, and carried the pressure of school and expectations. There were days I felt invisible. I didn’t have a therapist or a safe space to pour out my feelings, but I found strength in God, in prayer, and in my family — especially my mother, who kept pushing me toward my dreams.
Now, at just 16, I’m a child advocate working and speaking for the rights of children and girls. My passion for gender equality runs deep, and I believe every voice deserves to be heard. I’ve chosen to turn my pain into purpose, and every space I speak in is for those who feel unseen.
Joining World Pulse is the right step for me — to connect, learn, and grow with women around the world who also dream of change. I’m here to share, to support, and to raise my voice — not just for me, but for every girl who’s been told to stay silent.
Thank you for welcoming me.
