Free Farm for Females

story

I love farming. Farming to me means abundance. My late mother was a farming. She encouraged us to farm no matter how small.
Farming helps us to connect to the soil, to know what we eat and have control over what goes into our body system.
It has been my dream to farm.
During Covid-19 lockdown last year, when we were faced with so much starvation, I decided to start a free farm for Women in Owo.
So when I was able to buy ten acres of land through the support of one of my sisters and proceeds from last year's Artworks. I bought land and decided to dedicate the farm products to women who are in dire need of foodstuffs.
This week we were able to make more than five thousand, 5000 heaps. We planted maize, cassava, six hundred seed yam and four hundred palm trees.
The main challenge is the Fulani Herdmen who graze their cows on our farm.
We cant complain about this in Nigeria because these Herdmen are kidnappers and murderers. Its a major challenge but I believe that God Almighty will rescue Southern Nigeria farmers from banditry and wicked herders because not all of these Fulani Herdmen are bad.
During harvest we will ensure that our farm becomes a walk in without embarrassment to every woman in dire need of foodstuffs in our communities.
We will continue to do our best to help women and girls in our community.
