A journey of creativity,confidence and self-growth.
My name is Sharmin Akhter Sorna, and I am writing from Bangladesh. I am a mother, a dreamer, and a woman who is learning to stand for herself again after spending years living only for others.
I got married at a very young age. At that time, I had dreams about my education, my career, and my future. But slowly, family responsibilities, motherhood, and daily struggles made me lose my own identity. I dedicated myself to my family, cared for everyone, and tried to be strong all the time. Yet deep inside, I often felt invisible and unheard.
Many women may look happy from the outside while silently carrying loneliness and pain inside. I was one of them. Over the years, I lost confidence in myself, my ambitions, and the life I once imagined. But I never completely gave up, because my children became my strength.
I am the mother of twins, a son and a daughter. Raising them taught me something very important: a mother’s dreams matter too. Women do not exist only to sacrifice for others. We also deserve education, respect, independence, and the chance to rebuild our lives.
After many years, I finally found the courage to continue my education and think about building a new future for myself. This journey is not easy. There are emotional struggles, financial pressures, and social expectations that make the path difficult. But despite everything, I am still trying to move forward.
I know there are many women around the world who feel the same way I do. Women who lost themselves while taking care of everyone else, yet still carry the desire to live again and rediscover who they truly are. To them, I want to say: we are not finished. We still have the right to dream, grow, and begin again.
This is my first story on World Pulse. I came here to find my voice, connect with other women, and share my journey openly. I believe one woman’s story can give strength to another.
Today, I am writing not with fear, but with hope. Because I know my life is not only a story of pain — it is also a story of resilience, courage, and rising again.
